Applications for 2024 Scholarships will be accepted January 2, 2024 - April 5, 2024.  

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation works closely with community supporters and generous donors to provide scholarship opportunities to 

graduating seniors in the Las Cruces Public Schools.

The Foundation is proud to administer these scholarships in order to help students pursue their higher education goals. 

The scholarships range from $250 to $2000.

The Foundation provided 26 scholarships to 2023 LCPS Graduates totaling $24,250.

2024 SCHOLARSHIPS with Criteria

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created this scholarship with Dr. Felipe Samaniego.  It is intended that the funds will provide one $1000 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to major in the arts at any New Mexico College or University.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created the Anita L. Sabichi, MD Music Scholarship with Felipe Samaniego, MD. It is intended that the funds will provide one $2000 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to major in Music at any New Mexico College or University.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation with Matt Hartsough created this scholarship. It will provide $500 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a female graduating senior from APECHS who seeks a bachelor’s degree in biology or pre-med sciences at any NM college or university. 

Binns Family Foundation created this $2000 scholarship in memory of Bernice Binns to be awarded to a LCPS graduate majoring in any field of art who will study at NMSU.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation, Inc. in conjunction with the Bieri Family Endowment Fund, has created this scholarship. It is intended that the funds will provide one $1000 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces school district who plans to major in Broadcast Journalism at New Mexico State University.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created this scholarship with the Binns Family Foundation.  It is intended that the funds will provide one $1500 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to major in Education at New Mexico State University.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation in conjunction with the League of Women Voters of Greater Las Cruces and the Reed Burn Family has created this scholarship in honor of Bonnie Burn. It is intended that the funds will provide one $1000 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces school district who plans to major in education at New Mexico State University in the College of Education.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created the Brandon Myers Culinary Arts Scholarship in collaboration with the Michael Lavin: McDonald’s Fund.  It is intended that the funds will provide one $500.00 (non-renewable) scholarship to a graduating senior from Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to major in Culinary Arts at Doña Ana Community College.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created the BSA Eagle Scout Scholarship in conjunction with a consortium of Friends of Scouting. It is intended that the funds will provide one $1000 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior who has earned the BSA Eagle Scout Rank from the LCPS District plans to attend any New Mexico College or University.

This scholarship has been established by the Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation with Abel Covarrubias.  It will award a $500 (non-renewable) scholarship  to a graduating Las Cruces Public School student who is a first generation college student who has also demonstrated a commitment to community service and/or school involvement.   Aprendamos Family of Services. 

The Las Cruces Public School Foundation established these scholarships with the Tucker Family.  $2000 will automatically be granted to the students at each of the 4 major Las Cruces Public High Schools who have the highest GPA and have participated in at least 2 varsity sports.  Each high school will be responsible for identifying the deserving student base on criteria set by the scholarship agreement.  There is no application for these scholarships.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation in conjunction with the Felipe Samaniego, MD Endowment Fund, has created this scholarship. It is intended that the funds will provide one $1000 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from the Las Cruces school district who plans to attend any college or university in New Mexico.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created this scholarship with Betsy Geery.  It is intended that the funds will provide a $500 (non-renewable) scholarship to a graduating senior from Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to pursue a degree in history, anthropology, or archeology at any NM college or university.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation, Inc. has created the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce DACC scholarship. It is intended that the funds will provide one $500 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to attend Doña Ana Community College full time.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created the J. Paul Taylor Scholarship. It is intended that the funds will provide one $500 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to major in education at New Mexico State University.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created this scholarship with Susie Hendee.  It is intended that the funds will provide two $500 (non-renewable) scholarship to two graduating seniors from Las Cruces Public Schools who plan to attend any NM college or university.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created this scholarship in in memory of John Northcut in collaboration with the Kiwanis Club and the Dona Ana Arts Council.  It is intended that the funds will provide one $500.00 (non-renewable) scholarship to a graduating senior from Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to enter an art program at any college or university.  

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created this scholarship to  provide one $1000 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to attend any NM college, university or accredited  vocation school.  

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created this scholarship with the Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce and the Leadership Las Cruces Class of 2018-2019.  It is intended that the funds will provide two $500 (non-renewable) scholarships each year to a graduating senior from Las Cruces Public Schools who are participants in Project Link and plan to attend a NM college, university or accredited vocational program. 

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation, Inc. in conjunction with the mesilla valley farmers has created this scholarship. It is intended that the funds will provide one $250 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating female senior from the Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to major in the field of Agriculture and attend New Mexico University.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation, Inc. in conjunction with the mesilla valley farmers has created this scholarship. It is intended that the funds will provide one $250 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating male senior from the Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to major in the field of Agriculture and attend New Mexico University.

This scholarship has been created by the LCPS Foundation with Anne Woodling and Jerry Humble.  Annually a $1000 (non-renewable) scholarship will be awarded to a student who plans to pursue a career in Agriculture and study at New Mexico State University.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created this scholarship with the family and friends of Rick Viramontes.  It is intended that the funds will provide one $1000 (non-renewable) scholarship to a graduating senior from  Organ Mountain HS who has taken physical education courses and plans to major in the field of Physical Education and/or Kinesiology at any New Mexico college or university.

This fund was created in memory of the beloved LCHS teacher Russ Richards. It will provide a $500 scholarship to be awarded to a Las Cruces High School student pursuing higher education in a medical, first responder or health field.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created this scholarship with Smith Engineering Company.  It is intended that on $1500 (non-renewable) scholarship be awarded to a graduating Las Cruces Public Schools student planning on studying civil engineering preferably at a NM college or university.

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation has created the Tombaugh Gallery Visual & Graphic Arts Scholarship with the Las Cruces Tombaugh Gallery. It is intended that the funds will provide one $500 (non-renewable) scholarship each year to a graduating senior from Las Cruces Public Schools who plans to pursue a career in the Visual or Graphic Arts and attend New Mexico State University or Doña Ana Community College.
